Application
- four part car seat with high structural integrity
- full automated operation capable of producing fourteen joints in fourteen seconds in five stages
- 2000 seats produced per 8 hour shift
- conventional riveting with pre-drilled holes impractical because of stringent requirement on hole location and part match up
- welding not able to joint pre-painted and zinc-coated parts without damage to both coatings
Benefits
- use of components painted prior to assembly
- no damage to zinc-coating on steel or punch material
- rapid cycle time
- relatively few joints for required strength
- continuous cascading of product through fully automated machine
