Industrial Member Non-Executive Director (Member of Council)

Our mission is to help industry solve problems through our expert advice and developing the next generation of experts to address future industry challenges. Group turnover in 2021 was £182m (which included £104m from property).  As a non-profit distributing entity, all surplus generated by the group goes back into serving our purpose. We achieve this by reinvesting into research, staff, equipment and buildings to better serve our Members.

The TWI governing body known as Council (comprising of non-executive directors), assist with the oversight and governance of the business through working in collaboration with the Chief Executive and an Executive Board.

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint new Industrial Member non–executive directors to join as Members of Council to participate in boards and committees according to their skills.

To be successful your employer is required to be an Industrial Member of TWI Ltd, you will need to have board or senior management experience, a strong understanding of good corporate governance and an ability to scrutinise and challenge company performance. Experience in one of the following areas would be advantageous – finance, industrial research strategy and exploitation, management of overseas subsidiaries, business and commercial development, human resources, legal, business governance and health and safety.

This is a non-remunerated role and requires a time commitment of up to eight days per annum.
