We are pleased to announce that TWI are official signatories of the Women in Defence UK Charter.
The Charter, which was created by Women in Defence UK, reflects the ambition to see women represented and succeeding at all levels across the defence industry. It is built upon the realisation that a balanced workforce is good for both business and government, as well as benefitting customers, consumers and workplace culture. In addition, The Charter aims to support improved profitability; promoting prosperity and stability by showing that everyone is important in building stronger and more peaceful communities.
About Women in Defence UK
Women in Defence UK is a not-for-profit organisation. Founded by former Army officer Angela Owen OBE in 2011, Women in Defence UK boasts a network of over 15,000 individuals and over 40 partners, covering every level of the defence sector.
The purpose of Women in Defence UK is to accelerate gender equality in the sector by supporting the Women in Defence Charter’s ambition of 30% of all roles being filled by women by 2030. This achievement would speed up the transition towards a more inclusive, balanced and equitable defence enterprise.
Women in Defence UK has already influenced policy changes towards greater inclusivity in defence organisations as it seeks to transform the defence sector into a representative and equitable space, where all genders can work and thrive.
