TWI Paper Wins Annual ‘Best Paper’ Award

Thu, 13 February, 2025

A research paper produced by experts from a range of universities, overseen by Darren Williams (professor and director of the Joining 4.0 Innovation Centre which is a partnership between TWI and Lancaster University), has won the ‘IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Andy Chi Best Paper Award 2024.’

The paper, ‘A New Multisensor Partial Domain Adaptation Method for Machinery Fault Diagnosis Under Different Working Conditions,’ was co-authored by J. Zhu, Y. Wang, M. Xia, D. Williams and C. W. de Silva and published in IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, Vol. 72.

The award is presented each year for the best paper published in the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement in order to emphasise the importance of good authorship and timeliness of subject matter, while also stimulating interest in the publication itself.

The award is named for Mr Andrew (Andy) R Chi, who was the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement (TIM) from 1978 to 1983, with the first award given in 1984 for a paper published in 1983. A presentation for this latest award is due to take place at the 2025 I2MTC Awards Luncheon, while the authors will also receive a monetary prize to split between them.

We are pleased to have been awarded for our work on this paper, which demonstrates the technical excellence available to our Members at TWI, and would like to thank IEEE for the recognition.
