The recording of our webinar, ‘Role of Machine Learning and AI in NDT’ is now available to view.
The two-hour webinar, which took place on 7 May 2024, had over 500 people register on the day to gain an overview of the how machine learning and artificial intelligence are impacting non-destructive testing.
Topics covered during the event included:
- An overview of robotic inspection and TWI’s capabilities
- An introduction to machine learning and AI in NDT data analysis and use in defect detection
- Machine learning and AI in NDT for path planning and automation, including an overview of TWI software products and services
- Inspection data visualisation, big data digital twins and advances post-processing
- Eddy current array testing in lieu of magnetic particle inspection and fluorescent penetrant inspection
- Training and competence management in today’s NDT industry
Speakers on the day included NDT research and technology section manager, Nathan Hartley; software consultant, Mark Sutcliffe; software and robotics team manager, Callum Hoyle; NDT senior project leader, Kai Yang; technical lead, Roger Dunn; and NSIRC PhD student, Mengyuan Zheng.
The presentations were followed by a question and answer session alongside a discussion of the topics raised during the webinar.
