Experts from TWI were in attendance at this year’s Society of Petroleum Engineers International (SPE) Symposium in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
TWI’s Project Manager for NIC and Research Projects, Sadik Omairey was joined by TWI’s Non-Metallics Technology Fellow and Business Development Manager for the MENA region, Dr Farshad Salamat-Zadeh at the event, which took place at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center from 26-27 February, 2025.
The Symposium, which was sponsored and hosted by ADNOC Group, took the theme of ‘Accelerating Non-Metallics: Building Resilient Energy Infrastructures,’ bringing together stakeholders, including subject matter experts, manufacturers, and operators to share knowledge around the deployment of non-metallics within the energy sector.
The in-person event included expert panel discussions, learning labs, ePoster presentations, and more, providing a platform for attendees to discuss the latest technological developments, challenges, and future ambitions.
Farshad’s involvement saw him act as chairperson for three different discussions and a speaker at another, while he was also invited to give the Symposium closing speech:
