TWI Industrial Members have access to a wealth of technical knowledge related to all aspects of materials, joining, integrity management and NDT.
Built up over more than six decades, our library and online resources hold unique collections of information, from the very earliest codes and standards to the latest e-books, providing a trustworthy and comprehensive resource for industry professionals.
With more than 30,000 printed and digital books, research reports, conference proceedings and more, Members can either access the resource directly via our website or contact our information services team, who are happy to help you find and access relevant data and information.
Technical Knowledge Resources
Available to Industrial Members, our technical knowledge resources can be accessed online via the TWI Digital Library. This single portal offers Members access to resources including Core Research Project Reports, FAQs, Job Knowledge and e-Books, as well as new content from our archive of TWI journals, conferences, seminars and reports.
Information resources available to our Members include:
- Library Catalogue and e-Books: Our catalogue of physical and digitised publications and e-Books cover all aspects of materials, joining and structural integrity. This includes a number of rare and out-of-print titles.
- Friction Stir Welding Symposia Papers: Members can access full text papers from our globally recognised International Symposia on Friction Stir Welding (FSW).
- Industrial Member Reports: In-depth reports from TWI Core Research Programme (CRP) projects are available detailing the technical and R&D activities undertaken along with project outcomes and industrial impacts. CRP abstracts and executive summaries are publicly available, but full CRP reports are available exclusively to TWI Industrial Member companies who contribute up to 50% of their annual fee to the programme.
- Published Papers: Overview of papers written by TWI experts, published in journals and presented at international conferences.
- Journals: Along with The Welding Institute’s ‘Welding and Joining Matters’ journal, we hold an archive of the no-longer-in print technical journal, ‘The Bulletin.’
- Technical FAQs: Access overviews of a range of technical topics via our FAQs.
- Job Knowledge: The Job Knowledge area offers an in-depth look at topics including different welding processes, corrosion types and testing.
- Insights: We also hold a collection of case studies that demonstrate how we have helped our Industrial Members on a variety of projects over the years.
- Weldasearch: A database of short abstracts summarising articles on welding, joining and other related technologies.
