Another set of in-line implementation trials for the OLEDSOLAR project began during December 2021 in Finland at the premises of our project coordinator, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT).
TWI has been working as one of 15 organisations on the EC-funded project developing innovative manufacturing processes and in-line monitoring techniques for photovoltaic module production.
The final outcome aims to create new monitoring techniques for the OLED and thin film photovoltaic industries (CIGS and OPV), in order to improve the yield and quality as well as the processing efficiency and sustainability.
The project has already seen in-line testing of TWI’s dark lock-in thermography (DLIT) on a VTT pilot line and this next round of trials will evaluate an automated DLIT in-line system on VTT’s TESLA pilot line.
The aim of the EU OLEDSOLAR project (oledsolarproject.eu) is to deliver quality control, inspection and functional testing and measurements, alongside new recycling strategies to reduce costly product waste.
This OLEDSOLAR project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 820789
