Programme announced for TWI Hellas Innovation Summit

Fri, 30 August, 2019

The TWI Hellas Innovation Summit – a one-day conference for European SMEs and research and technology organisations (RTOs) seeking technology partners – is taking place on 7 November 2019 at the President Hotel in Athens, Greece.

Designed to engage and connect the innovation community across Europe, the Summit will explore how to develop and exploit new technologies for business transformation as well as optimise access to funding opportunities that could make this happen.

The packed programme – delivered by a range of experts from the European Commission, National Contact Points, TWI Innovation Network and industry – includes inspiring and influential speakers, facilitated interactive sessions on key Horizon 2020 topics and scopes of work, and innovation clinics for aspiring enterprises to discuss technology concepts 1-2-1 with an innovation specialist.

Confirmed speakers to date, with more to follow, who will be sharing their insights from across the innovation landscape include:

  • Keynote speaker, Jean-David Malo of the European Commission who is the Director (Directorate-General for Research and Innovation) of the European Innovation Council Task Force
  • Georgios Megas, Innovation Manager and Greek National Contact Point for Information Communications Technology (ICT) and Future and Emerging Technologies (FET)/European Innovation Council in Horizon 2020
  • Franck Bourcier of Loiretech, who design and manufacture complete sets of tooling for large and complex composite, thermoplastic and metallic parts with customers in commercial aerospace, automotive, defence, energies and other industries.
  • Radhika Gudipati, Shadow Robot Company, who design and manufacture state-of-the-art anthropomorphic robot hands and related systems, and are the leading experts for technology around grasping and manipulation for robotics.
  • Andrew Pomazanskyi of Nuromedia, an independent software engineering company with international R&D experience and expertise covering VR/AR development, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, big data, blockchain, ICT solutions for ehealth, Industry 4.0 and more.

In addition, the conference will provide a cross-industry platform for delegates to network with like-minded, forwarding thinking companies and organisations, including TWI’s Innovation Centres, and the opportunity to share innovation insights and best practice.

Tat-Hean Gan, TWI’s Director of Innovation and Skills said “TWI has a very strong track record in both accelerating technology development and knowledge transfer, and attracting funding for collaborative R&D.  Therefore, this conference will be invaluable for companies who are seeking to establish a new technology or commercialise a new product or service.  From finding out how they could collaborate with TWI’s Innovation Centres – to opening up access to industrial companies in the TWI Innovation Network with complementary technical expertise – the TWI Hellas Innovation Summit will provide delegates with a wealth of information to help them develop the next generation of disruptive and deep technologies, and to navigate the different funding streams available.”

Places for this free event are booking up quickly – so registration for the conference through EventBrite is recommended without delay.
