Codes and standards are a key feature of welding and joining. TWI shares responsibility for their development, review and update and has actively participated in Commission C-III-B-WGB1 of IIW, which has just circulated drafts of ISO/DIS 25239-1 to -5 to all Members. These drafts are the first revision to this standard since it was first issued in 2010.
These standards are very important to sustain and underpin the rapid and successful industrialisation of friction stir welding across a range of fields and set the minimum acceptable level of safety.
Comments on these drafts are being received up to 14 August 2019 when the ballot closes.
This is a unique opportunity for technology stakeholders to have their say.
Please contact your ISO representative or TWI for further information.
