The Materials Innovation Centre (MatIC) collaborates with forward thinking SMEs in the UK and Europe to bid for grant/public funding that can help turn technology concepts into viable projects.  During the process, J4IC liaises closely with TWI’s Technology Innovation Management (TIM) team who focus on securing grant funded projects in engineering research and innovation.

The TIM team works closely with TWI’s technical experts, Industrial and Innovation Network (TWIIN) Members, external partners, Innovation Centres, as well as SMEs and RTOs, to develop concepts, build consortia and produce quality proposals.  MatIC brings to this its expertise and experience in metallic materials research, focusing on the fundamental understanding of metallic materials, both theoretical and experimental, and how properties and performance are related to processing dependent microstructures, as well as computational, mechanised and material processing models.

Take a look at some of MatIC’s projects below.
