Advanced Structural Integrity Innovation Centre (ASIIC)

  • University partner – Coventry University
  • Main focus – development of advanced technologies and methods for enhancing structural integrity in safety critical applications
  • Core areas – residual stress analysis, condition monitoring, digital twin, structural performance and damage mitigation, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and Internet of Things (IoT), non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection, integrity of components for additive manufacturing

Digital Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (DMIC)

  • University partner – Sabanci University
  • Main focus – digital manufacturing technologies for novel produces, system and services
  • Core areas – additive manufacturing of metals and composites, large scale simulation and digital twin, CAD, data and process management for value chain enhancement, autonomous and electric vehicles including batteries and light-weighting, composites and resin chemistry

Industrial Net Zero Innovation Centre (INZIC)

  • Industrial partner – Digital Catapult
  • Main focus – advanced digital technologies to enable energy efficiency and emissions reduction in the UK industrial supply chain, supporting global net zero targets
  • Core areas – asset management, digital twin, new applications to reduce carbon emissions in energy intensive industries, digital transformation of traditional manufacturing processes to smart factories, AI, IoT and block chain

Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre (NZIIC)

  • University partner – Teesside University
  • Main focus – net zero technologies for clean energy, sustainability and circular economy
  • Core areas – hydrogen storage and carbon capture, waste and pollution mitigation, thermal and chemical processing, and alternatives to chemicals, smart energy and grids, digital modelling and simulation including virtual and artificial reality
  • NZIIC was formed out of two earlier Teesside University-TWI Innovation Centres, the Circular Economy and Recycling Innovation Centre (CERIC), and the Industrial Decarbonisation and Hydrogen Innovation Centre (IDHIC)

Renewable Energy Innovation Centre (RENEW)

  • University partner – University of Bedfordshire
  • Main focus – engineering based, novel and disruptive technologies for sustainability and renewable energy solutions
  • Core areas – digital transformation of energy production and usage, low carbon power generation, smart home systems, robotics, sensors, data management and IoT for advanced control and energy efficiency, asset monitoring, environmental and risk assessment, access to renewal energy education, training and resources
