Brunel Composites Centre (BCC) collaborates with forward thinking SMEs in the UK and Europe to bid for grant/public funding that can help turn technology concepts into viable projects. During the process, BCC liaises closely with TWI’s Technology Innovation Management (TIM) team who focus on securing grant funded projects in engineering research and innovation.
The TIM team works closely with TWI’s technical experts, Industrial and Innovation Network (TWIIN) Members, external partners, Innovation Centres, as well as SMEs and RTOs, to develop concepts, build consortia and produce quality proposals. BCC brings to this its expertise and experience in creating industry-ready, advanced solutions for the processing and joining of composites.
Take a look at some of BCC’s projects below.
Next-generation marine vessel propellers
Enhancing material properties of recycled glass fibres through sizing
End-effectors development and industrialisation for aviation
Composite hybrid joints with electromagnetic compatibility
Breakthrough reinforcement for added chassis efficiency
Novel multi-zone self-heated out-of-autoclave composite tool
