The Inclusive Innovation Awards by Innovate UK (IUK) have been announced with the aim of supporting SMEs who are developing innovations centred on equality, diversity and inclusion in their design and development.
IUK is specifically looking for SMEs that can be role models for inclusive innovation, encouraging other businesses to see the many benefits.
This is an excellent opportunity for any SME with a project that is:
- centred on equality, diversity and inclusion in the design and development of products, processes or services
- involving a diverse team, as appropriate to the project
- demonstrating business growth and successful economic impact
- delivering demonstrable societal impact
TWI and the TIA programme team are happy to offer fully-funded support to any SME leaders from the Tees Valley region who would like guidance in preparation of a bid for the Inclusive Innovation Award 2022 to 2023.
With an allocated total investment of up to £2.5 million for this competition, each project can claim up to 100% of the project costs, which, can be up to £50,000 for 12 months’ duration.
Projects can come from any area of technology and be applied to any part of the economy including, digital and technologies, net zero, healthy living, agriculture and more.
SME leaders that join the TIA programme before the 9 November 2022 submission deadline can expect to receive:
- 1:1 sessions to ensure eligibility for this call and to refine the proposal concept
- Expert proposal writing guidance to bring the application up to IUK standards
- Review of the final proposal by expert assessors before submission of the proposals
Applications for TIA support are now open, however, due to the short time span until the call’s deadline we will only be able to accept a very limited number of applicants on a first-come-first-serve basis, so applying earlier is advised to avoid missing out.
