Kid Jervis Diña attended the CSWIP 3.0 training and examination organised by TWI in January 2025, and his overall experience was highly positive. He found the training to be both informative and practical, significantly improving his knowledge of welding inspection. Kid particularly appreciated the hands-on component, where he could actively inspect welding defects, as it provided a real-world application to the theory he was learning.
The most valuable part of the training for Kid was learning to identify different welding defects accurately. Understanding the terminology and characteristics of each defect gave him the confidence to perform more precise inspections. However, he suggested that the training could benefit from exploring the causes of defects in greater detail. Knowing why defects occur would add more depth to the learning experience and help inspectors better address potential issues.
Kid found the content of the training highly relevant to his role in the welding industry. It helped him understand the differences between various weld defects, which is essential for ensuring that welding quality meets the required standards. The course not only met his learning needs but also equipped him with practical skills he could apply directly to his job.
The instructor’s effectiveness in delivering the training content stood out to Kid. He described the instructor as very effective, making complex topics easy to understand. Additionally, the training materials provided were clear and well-structured, aiding his comprehension.
Kid would highly recommend the training to colleagues, as he believes it would help them gain a deeper understanding of welding defects and improve their inspection skills. Overall, he felt the training was an excellent experience, enhancing his skills and boosting his confidence in quality control tasks.
