In January 2025, John Russel A. Ada participated in the CSWIP 3.0 training and examination organised by TWI. Reflecting on the experience, he found the training to be highly informative and easy to follow. The course was designed to provide both foundational knowledge and deeper insights into welding defects, which John found particularly valuable. This deeper understanding has enhanced his ability to identify and address welding issues in his job.
John mentioned that one area for improvement could be the accuracy of welding gauges and the assessment of specimen defects, as precision is key in maintaining high industry standards. Despite this, he felt the training was highly relevant to his role, particularly in helping him understand how to verify defects and ensure that welding quality aligns with established criteria.
The training met his learning needs and preferences, providing him with practical knowledge that he can apply directly to his work. The instructor was effective in delivering the content, and the materials provided were clear and helpful, aiding his comprehension of complex topics.
John is confident that the skills he gained will enhance his performance in his role, and he would highly recommend this training to colleagues, believing it would be beneficial for anyone involved in visual inspection. His experience learning alongside co-workers and other participants was enjoyable, and he expressed gratitude for successfully passing the exam. He looks forward to more opportunities for specialized training in the future.
