TWI is proud to announce its collaboration with CENTEXS, the Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak, Malaysia.
TWI is developing advanced training centres equipped with cutting-edge technologies for the state's oil and gas technical and vocational education division. This collaboration is a significant achievement for TWI, showcasing its dedication to meeting the industry's requirements by delivering quality training and educational tools to industries worldwide.
In 2018, CENTEXS approached TWI with the vision of establishing comprehensive training programmes within their facilities, focusing on crucial areas such as sandblasting, spray painting, metal and plastic welding, inspection, and NDT modules.
TWI worked diligently with CENTEXS over the past few years, to design and construct state-of-the-art facilities tailored to their specific training needs. The process began with detailed design and planning, followed by the procurement of materials and equipment from various countries.
In April 2024, TWI commenced the construction of blasting and painting facilities in Mukah, Sarawak. Despite the logistical challenges posed by the distance, TWI's dedicated team successfully executed the project, demonstrating unparalleled expertise and commitment to excellence.
Today, the sandblasting and painting booths stand erected, showcasing the culmination of months of meticulous planning and hard work. While the facilities are near completion, work on essential components such as air ducting systems, soundproofing, and dust collectors continues.
Once fully operational, these advanced facilities will enable TWI to offer comprehensive blasting and painting programmes in collaboration with CENTEXS. These programmes will be open to individuals from Sarawak and beyond, providing valuable training opportunities to aspiring professionals in the oil and gas sector.
Dean Mallaburn stated that TWI's collaboration with CENTEXS demonstrates its commitment to promoting excellence in the education and training sector. He is proud to have contributed to the development of the training facilities. He hopes they will empower individuals to learn the subject matters and succeed in becoming competent tradespeople.
