Asset Integrity Management (AIM) is a critical engineering discipline that focuses on the safe, continuous operation, maintenance, and repair of industrial plants and equipment. This field is vital in sectors such as oil and gas, power, and construction, leading to a high demand for skilled AIM professionals who can safely manage and maintain critical assets.
To address this need, TWI, through the TWI Global Academy, has launched new Diplomas in Asset Integrity Management (AIM): AIM Practitioner, AIM Specialist, and AIM Professional. These courses provide a pathway from technical and vocational training to higher education, offering a clear route to professional development, qualifications, and certification.

Career in Asset Integrity Management (AIM)
A career in AIM requires a diverse set of skills and extensive knowledge. Professionals in this field perform regular inspections and evaluations to detect issues such as corrosion, erosion, and structural weaknesses. They use advanced engineering technologies for continuous monitoring, which provides real-time data to quickly identify deviations from standard operating conditions. Inspection results are used to develop and implement maintenance and repair plans, while risk assessments help to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring the integrity of critical assets.
In addition to these responsibilities, AIM professionals strive to enhance performance, reduce maintenance costs, comply with industry regulations and standards, and engage in strategic lifecycle planning for projects from installation to decommissioning.
