A scientific-practical seminar on the "Importance and Development of Welding Technology in the Oil and Gas Industry" was organized at Training, Education and Certification Department of SOCAR with the participation of TWI Azerbaijan and a number of important oil companies.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, Head of the Department Fuad Suleymanov emphasized the relevance of welding and installation works and the importance of training qualified personnel in this field, and said that such important issues will be kept in mind in the seminars and conferences planned for the next years.
Elnur Huseynov, Head of the Department of Human Capital Development and Functional Excellence of SOCAR's Head Office, spoke and mentioned that the event will contribute to the development of human capital and the exchange of experience, touching on the factors of labor safety and quality assurance in the technological operations performed in the oil-gas and petrochemical industries.
Head of "Oil, Gas and Construction" Trust Gaghamali Seyfullayev brought to the attention of the seminar participants the activity and role of TTSI's welding centers and physical/mechanical testing laboratories in training welders and organizing their attestation, as well as checking the quality of welding samples and welding joints and providing relevant methodical opinions.
Vice-rector of Azerbaijan Technical University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Subhan Namazov, in his conceptual speech, considered the existing material and technical base and personnel potential of SOCAR admirable in the application of advanced technologies and innovations in connection with large-scale construction and installation works carried out in the country, and university-industry partnership and scientific- he talked about the importance of the seminar in the background of research projects.
Later, the representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute in Azerbaijan, Goshgar Asadov, deputy director of the "Oil and Gas Research Project" Institute Mubariz Guliyev, deputy head of the Gas Export Administration Hikmat Hasanov, deputy general director of "Azerigas" Production Union Jeyhun Shikhaliyev, Training, Education and Deputy Head of Certification Department Aydın Mehdiyev, Chief Engineer of Oil Pipeline Department Abdulla Mammadov, Quality Assurance Manager of UBOC Company Kamran Ismayilov, Quality Control Manager of AzFen Company Vasif Abbasov, Chief Welder of BosShelf Company Khalig Alimuradov and Country Manager of TWI Azerbaijan - Karim Shakuri have exchanged their ideas by giving detailed information about the current situation in the installation processes, periodic inspection of equipment, elimination of accidents and malfunctions that may occur in pipelines, technical review and diagnostic works, the necessity of non-destructive examinations, welding methods and quality assurance procedures.
