The TWI NDT Technology Group are world leaders in the research, development and deployment of advanced inspection solutions, having been at the forefront of advanced and conventional NDT technologies for over 40 years.
The NDT team consists of around 50 staff suitably qualified and experienced to ISO 9712 Level 2 and Level 3 in the full range of NDT methods.
The NDT team is supported by over 150 engineers within TWI, who cover various technologies including integrity management, metallurgy welding and allied technologies.
The NDT Group:
- Develop processes, systems and techniques for the detection, quantification and sizing of defects in exotic materials, complex geometries and for new welding processes
- Increase capability to perform NDT either in-service or during manufacture
- Provide validation and qualification that selected processes are fit-for-purpose
- Develop automated and autonomous techniques for NDT that can be deployed in challenging and hazardous environments
